Dog Training Manager

I’m the dog training program manager at Sol Dog Lodge, overseeing the dog training department.

I’ve always loved dogs and, as a child, dreamed of competing in dog sports. But it wasn’t until I brought home Bonus, my first adopted dog, that I began my journey of working with “behavioral” cases. Bonus was deeply fearful and undersocialized, and my pursuit of helping Bonus led to wanting to help other dogs like him, which led to an internship with Sol Dog where I gained hands-on experience under Rachel Molyneux’s guidance.

I went on to serve on the board of a rescue group which focused on saving at-risk dogs with behavioral challenges in the shelter system and worked as a dog trainer doing in-home private lessons. During my career journey, I have worked for several nonprofits (including PACC) and feel strongly about working for an organization whose mission aligns with my values. I have over a decade of dog handling experience and continuously seek out educational opportunities in the dog training field; attending intensive workshops, seminars, and conferences.

I’m passionate about helping dogs find balance and develop trusting relationships with their people. I believe understanding the dog’s perspective is the first step in addressing any issue and I try to be every dog’s biggest advocate. I have dabbled in a variety of dog sports with my personal dogs, including obedience, rally-o, agility, nosework, and tricks. Compassion, communication, and fun (don’t forget to have FUN with your dog!) are the core tenants that drive my work with every client, both human and canine.
