Justin Gallick
Director of Kennel Operations
For more than two decades, I’ve been deeply involved in Tucson’s animal welfare community. My journey began as a volunteer and foster with local organizations such as the Foundation for Animals in Risk (FAIR) and the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). I went on to spend ten years at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA), where I served as an Animal Care Technician, Foster Coordinator, and eventually Adoption Manager.
Building on that foundation, I joined Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) in the newly established role of Animal Care Advocate. Over nearly a decade, I played a key role in transforming PACC’s operations and outcomes—helping raise the shelter’s live release rate from roughly 50% to more than 93%. My focus on leadership, collaboration, and community engagement eventually led to my appointment as Executive Director of Community Engagement.
I currently share my home with two 11-year-old special needs dogs, Bessie and Chapo, who remind me every day why this work matters. Their resilience and affection reinforce my belief in the power of compassion, patience, and second chances.
Through my work in shelter management, rescue, and community education, I strive to improve outcomes for pets in need and strengthen the bond between animals and the people who love them. My career has been guided by one constant goal: to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of both animals and their communities.
